Mayor Cohen Barnes has issued a proclamation recognizing this week as Disability Book Week in the City of DeKalb, IL. The proclamation was accepted by Disability Book Week Director, Lindsey Larsen.

Mike Steele is an elementary school librarian and children’s playwright with eight plays published and licensed for production. "Not Lucille" is his debut middle-grade novel. In his spare time, he likes to attend musicals, create mixed-media artwork, and win prizes from claw machines. He lives at the Jersey Shore with his tabby cats, Karen and Sox. Cindy Boudreaux, originally from Bradenton, FL, is a long-time resident of Aiken County (SC) along with her husband, Ray, of 33 years. Cindy is a nationally board-certified and licensed occupational therapy assistant specializing in pediatrics. Additionally, she is the National Special Needs Coordinator for the Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome Foundation, where she has volunteered for the last 30 years.
Possibilities was written to give her daughter, Alyson, a voice, with the hope of facilitating acceptance, awareness, and inclusion. The proceeds of each book will benefit the national organization represented by the special needs featured.
